Rob Banchich moved to Palm Springs in May 2024 after having lived in Los Angeles for 18 years and in San Francisco for 13 years, prior to that. Originally from the Midwest, Rob received his bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism from Valparaiso University. Upon graduation, he worked in radio for a few years before he segued into non-profit medical association work. He served as a recruiter at The American Dietetic Association before taking on the role of Director of Committees at the Arthroscopy Association of North America, where he helped spearhead efforts to build the first of its kind surgical learning center for orthopedic surgeons.

After too many bitterly cold Chicago winters, Rob migrated to San Francisco where he continued his non-profit work as Membership Director at The Commonwealth Club of California and then as Director of Marketing for the Clinical Education Department for the American Academy of Ophthalmology.

With the rapid expansion of the dot com industry around this time in the Bay Area, Rob made the move to the corporate sector and managed both consumer credit and consumer debit marketing teams at Visa USA. While finishing up some graduate studies at the University of California, Berkeley, Rob was recruited to move to Los Angeles where he headed up marketing and strategy for two start-ups and two advertising agencies. While in Los Angeles, Rob volunteered his time and services as a crisis counselor at the Trevor Project, served as Vice President on the Board of Directors and Fundraising Chairperson at Being Alive – LA, and assisted with feeding and housing the homeless during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2019-2021.

Shortly after arriving in Palm Spring last spring, where he thought, he was coming to retire, he was hired by Desert Oasis Healthcare as Director of Marketing. Rob manages an amazing team responsible for all aspects marketing, advertising, public relations and philanthropy for this 60,000-member healthcare provider in the Coachella Valley. Rob has quickly acclimated to the climate and close-knit culture here in Palm Springs and couldn’t be happier to be here!
